ABS is a crucial system that prevents all four wheels from locking simultaneously during braking, ensuring maximum vehicle stability. It includes traction control, emergency braking, and electronic stability control systems. Damage to any ABS sensor or its wiring puts these systems into emergency mode, leading to an expensive visit to a service center.

During normal operation, ABS sensors can be easily damaged, even by a small stone kicked up by a passing vehicle. Off-road conditions pose an even greater risk, with exposed roots, branches, dry soil, and rocks on the trail.
